Sylvia Rebecca Fisher
Apr 17, 2018Ms. Fisher was born on Saturday, March 25, 1944 to the late Russell and Annie (Beard) Fisher in Crockett County, Tennessee. Sylvia spent her youthful years in Chicago employed with the US Postal Service retiring in 1999 after 33 years of service. After her retirement Sylvia relocated to Mansfield to be near her children and siblings. She was a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church.Sylvia is survived by three daughters: Sylvia (LaForest) Durrah, Vanessa Fisher, and Rena (Maurice, Jr.) Pitts-Canada, of Mansfield; seven grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren; two sisters: Annie B. Duckworth, of Mansfield, and Christine Pledger, of Chicago, Illinois; three step-children: Camisha Broussard, Shamyra Williams, and Jewels Williams, of Chicago.In addition to her parents Sylvia was also preceded in death by her husband, Albert Williams, great grandson, LaShawn Shirley, two sisters Mildred Ingram, and Warline Howard, four brothers Charlie, Lawrence, Dorcie, and Walter Fisher.Funeral services were held Monday (today), at 11 a.m. in the Leak & Sons Funeral Homes: 7838 S. Cottage Grove Ave.; Chicago 60619. Overseer E. Renea Collins of the Kingdom Grace Fellowship Church, Mansfield, officiated.
